I recently visited the Gairoch Heritage Centre in Inverurie. It has an extensive and detailed display on the history of the Tait Paper Mill.  The Centre sells a DVD, The History of Tait Paper” produced by Carney Heritage Productions in 2006.

The video includes interviews from a range of ex staff  on their work experiences and also with Thomas Tait on the history of the mill, including the changes in raw material from rags through esparto grass to wood pulp.

The combination of the museum exhibit and the DVD give a very immersive experience of what working in the Tait Mill was like.

    I recommend a visit.
